Museum quality Storage of paper products such as documents, sketches, prints and blueprints etc.

The most important aspect after conservation of a paper product is the museum-quality storage. The original print has been taken through the various steps of conservation. What to do next? For example:

This photograph has undergone museum-quality conservation. An anti-fungal treatment has been applied as well as it has been de-acidified. Any remnants of glue and or clear tape have been removed.

The original was scanned in and digitally " restored "

The next question arises. What to do with the original? Since it is obvious that the photograph has not only a certain monetary value to a collector but yet also a huge historical value , the original must be stored in an museum-quality environment. There are certain steps that must be taken to prevent any further damage to the original. One can encapsulate the photograph with Mylar. The encapsulated photo then can be  placed in an acid-free sleeve . The sleeve is then placed further in a dark storage container that has an continuous humidly and temperature environment.
